TWO RECOGNISED WBA HOLDERS

The WBA has elevated Anthony Cacace to Super Champion status and Elnur Samedov to champion in the super featherweight division. RXVL lists both statuses separately because neither title should be presented as the division's sole recognised championship.

WHAT COMES NEXT

Cacace may make a voluntary defence against a WBA ranked boxer before 31 December. The winner must then defend the Super Championship against Samedov in a mandatory contest on neutral territory approved by the parties.

WHY THE ORDER CHANGED

The governing body issued the resolution after the proposed mandatory contest could not be staged immediately. The WBA says no further special permission or title unification can take place until the mandatory bout is completed or an agreement is reached.
