THE ORDER REMAINS OPEN

Friday practice offers the first detailed comparison of fuel loads, tyre use and aerodynamic choices, but it does not settle the grid. Teams can still alter their cars before final practice and qualifying, while engine settings may also change the competitive picture.

WHAT COMES NEXT

Final practice begins at 11:30 in the United Kingdom on Saturday, followed by qualifying at 15:00. The closeness of Mercedes and Ferrari makes execution, traffic and the timing of each run especially important.
